BTS member Rap Monster’s mixtape “RM” has received acknowledgement from the U.S music site Spin by making its list of 50 best hip-hop albums of the year.
Standing at No. 48, Rap Monster is the first and only Korean artist to have been featured on the list. (In fact, the list criticizes K-pop’s general approach to black culture.) Other artists featured on the list include Kendrick Lamar, Drake, andLupe Fiasco.
Released last March, “RM” is Rap Monster’s debut solo mixtape. Out of the 11 tracks, Spin praises the track “Life” for its “surprisingly sturdy hooks” and calls the title track “Do You” a “standout single.”
The mixtape features instrumentals from Run the Jewels and Big K.R.I.T and a cameo from Tech N9ne’s Krizz Kaliko. In this past year Rap Monster has collaborated with American hip-hop artist Warren G on “P.D.D (Please Don’t Die)” and co-produced the song “Fantastic” for the Hollywood film “Fantastic Four.”
“Kim Namjoon [Rap Monster’s birth name] actually stands a chance of making a dent in the States,” Spin concludes. “Provided he sticks to doing him.

- seriously I'm writing this as a non-fan, I see him here and there everyday and his face is seriously average and not that handsome but his actions are so cute and his charms are overflowing.. So this kinda makes his face look handsomerㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋyeah that's right I'll join the fandom...

- Kim Namjoon is seriously good at all rap, lyrics, and composition (Mixtapes too b...) Kim Seokjin is handsome, and has a pretty voice color (he's also the famous car door man) Min Yoongi is also good at rap, writing lyrics and composing (that's the guy who did tomorrow) Jung Hoseok dances well, he can also rap and sing pretty well (He was famous in the underground world for his dancing before debut, that's how he got in his company) Park Jimin also dances well and he's in charge of the high notes, he can go as high as 3 octaves' A (he entered the Busan Arts school through dance skills) Kim Taehyung is in charge of being the visual, he has a deep voice that sounds so nice with sweet songs, he acted pretty well in their Prologue and he partly made Hold Me Tight in HYYH pt.1 (People think that handsome people can't sing but he can... You guys should listen to Bangtan's covers) lastly, Jun Jungkook, our golden maknae, he dances well, sings well, raps well and after watching Run's MV, he can act well too, he was also part in the making of Outro in HYYH pt.1 (do I need to say more) those members take advantage of each others talents, that's why fans are so happy ㅠㅜㅜㅜ Bangtan fighting! Everyone are the bestㅠㅜㅜㅜㅜ

- This time Namjoon is seriously going to hit big, he works a lot and goes on a lot of broadcasts even when it's hard, he also produced the album and said that it was tiring too, he went through lots of pain and I wanna applaud him for his good work. Seriously Bangtan will hit the long run, of course there's still a long way but they're constantly growing so I wish they do well
