[enter-talk] POEM WRITTEN BY AN IDOL IN HIS 5TH GRADE MIDDLE SCHOOL

Korean Peninsula Tiger, and Unification

Not a small rabbit but
a scary tiger.
scratch is made on the tiger's waist.

Hurt on the waist
struggling
one tiger continues to suffer.

China, and Japan, and United States
all looked down on us, and said we are not a tiger but only a small rabbit.

But the day when the scratch on the tiger's waist washes away
the world will not be able to look down on us.

South will be like the north,
North will be like the south,

The day when the two colors on the Korean flag
unite and become purple,

70 million citizens
will become one
and look up to the sky with hands together,

That day will come one day.

Marching one step by step
to the place called unification

We are not a small rabbit but
one brave tiger.

To a place where we are under one sky even in different places.

(t/n: tiger = Korea, basically he's calling for unification of both Koreas which is like a "national dream" for a lot of Koreans ^^)

When I look at Bangtan, they really seem to take interest in history and society's concerns. Suga wrote a song about Gwangju's democratization too (518-062) he was already a producer before debuting. Rapmon also wrote a song about "Shut up and vote" and talked about schools' realities. They have lots of songs criticizing the society, and you can learn a lot from them

he enjoys reading poems normally I wonder if he would've become a poet instead of a singerㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ He would also do battles of poems with random peopleㅋㅋㅋ He also studied a lot of languages and he's good at rapping on top of that, a rare case;

(find strength/power! If you're having a hard time, gimme this "him")

t/n: he's playing with words again, 힘/him= power
and 힘들다/himdeulda= to be having a hard time,
so he's basically telling fans to "find strength" (힘내요/him naeyo) In the first sentence
but he's telling them that if they are finding "hardship" (the other 힘(+들) instead of strength, which is also 힘) then they should give that 힘 (hardship) to him,
which coincidentally also reads 힘(hardship)+내요 (to give)
ugh... sorry if it's a bit ambiguous basically he's repeating himself twice using the same words but it means different things ^^;;
