I was sure in thinking that "EXO would be the one winning" but,
Votings for the album was supposed to be weighted at 30%
EXO had around 1,150,000 votes which is 100% of 300 points
BTS had around 840,000 votes which is 71% of 300 points
the maximum amount of points you could earn from this was 300
EXO got 300
BTS got 219
Digital sales was weighted 70% of the total points
EXO was 3rd in terms of digital sales with 211,002,876 albums sold, which is roughly 71%
BTS came 8th with 112,484,727 albums sold which is roughly 38%
The maximum amount of points you could earn was 700
EXO got 497 (adjusted with 0.47% deduction)
BTS got 266 (adjusted with 0.10% deduction)
EXO's total: 300+497=797/1000
BTS' total: 219+266=485/1000
EXO won artist of the year and this one was correct
People also kept mentioning Twice for winning artist of the year, but if you look at the numbers only it shouldn't be them but Zico
Solely based on digital charts, Zico should've won #1 because they were first, hence have 100% of the 700 points
EXO were 3rd so they had 71.4% of the 700 points.
Based on this, Zico had 700 points and EXO had 500.29 points
Here's the votes calculation for artist of the year
EXO was 1st with 1.135.000 votes = 100% of the 300 points = 300 points
Zico was 6th with 63.209 points = 5.57% of the 300 point = 16.71 points
EXO's total = 800.29
Zico's total = 716.71
I'm not writing this post to swear at Bangtan, I'm writing this to show that Melon award did not hand in the award fairly

- I'm an EXO-L and I don't think that Bangtan nor the Army are at fault here. It's the system that was wrong
