[enter-talk] PRODUCE 101’S KWON HYUNBIN’S PAST

Kwon Hyunbin went to study abroad in Japan before.

When he came back to Korea, he graduated from middle school and became an athlete student (T/N: not sure of the English equivalent of 채육특기생, like sports special students(?)).

He was selected as one of the national representative for teens’ fencing tournament.

And because he injured his thighs’ muscles, he had to give up on fencing.

So he just went to a normal high school afterwards.

When he was in his 2^nd and 3^rd year of high school, he was a member of the school council.

He has the looks of a delinquent but he was actually an upright student.

In 2005, he debuted as a model.

Fencing gold medalist Park Sangyeong wrote a support post for him:

“M close dongsaeng is going on P101ㅎㅎhe’s someone who has worked towards his dream very hard ever since he was young and the opportunity has finally came to him. I really wish that he does well. His name is Kwon Hyunbin, please support him~!!ㅎㅎ”

Kwon Hyunbin is 21 y.o. but he already had 2 former jobs. And right now, he’s making himself a path to become an idol.

Fencing athlete > model > idol

It hasn’t been too long since he started learning how to dance.

I know that his skills are still not that good but

I want more people to know that he’s a hard workerㅠㅠ

+ There was a fight among the guys and girls in Kwon Hyunbin’s club

And the guys were cursing at the girls in their chat room

So. Kwon Hyunbin wrote that they were at fault too and to not talk to the girls tomorrow

Kwon Hyunbin greeting the fans. Seriously, he’s seriously polite and hard working. He’s working hard so I’m sure that there will be a day when he can fully showcase his skills. Please ㅠㅠ

Who are we to tell him ‘you’re good at this, so only do this’? Would you like it if you wanted to draw but that others tell you that you suck at drawing but since you’re good at studying, you should only study? You should tell someone to live like this or like that (T/N: see comments below)

I was seriously a fan of Kwon Hyunbin when he was a modelㅜㅜ it upsets me when people say that he came on P101 to get more knownㅜㅜㅜ he was pretty known as a model and was on the rise as a rookie star. If you have some interest in models, you would have heard his name at least once…ㅠㅠ some months before he went on P101, he was even shooting CECI pictorials with Nara and had a pretty busy schedule… but because he’s in P101 now, it will take a toll on his modeling life. There are other models who will take his spots, but that aside, for a rising model to miss only one fashion season can be very damaging for their career. But he was aware of all that and still went on P101. Seriously, it’s not because he wanted to become more known that he wants to be on the show, but because he wants to become an idol that muchㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ I wish that people would stop portraying him as a bad person…..

There are always talks about his popularity but as you know, he was already considered a star in the model world, and his future was promising. As a YG K+ model, he could’ve even went into acting . His model agency has other stars like Lee Sungkyung and Nam Joohyuk and he could’ve became an actor like them but Kwon Hyunbin has always been interested in singing and dancing. He seriously wants to be an idol so that’s why he came on P101. Kwon Hyunbin’s fans were saying that if he continued modelling, he would have had a promising future and they were cursing at him asking him what the heck he was doing. But he told them that he really wanted to be an idolㅇㅇ
