IZ*ONE and X1 will not be attending the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards (hereafter 2019 MAMA).
Previously, IZ*ONE was announced for the first lineup of the ceremony, while X1 was not announced for the lineup.
On November 26, Mnet released the following statement:
Hello, this is Mnet.
This is a notice regarding the [lineup of] performing artists at 2019 MAMA on December 4.
– IZ*ONE will not appear at 2019 MAMA. We greatly apologize to the fans who have waited for IZ*ONE’s performance.
– As there are many inquiries, we are also announcing that X1 will not appear at 2019 MAMA.
We express our sincere apologies for causing concern due to our program.
Producing director (PD) Ahn Joon Young admitted to the manipulation of the results of “Produce 48” and “Produce X 101” earlier in the month, and the activities of IZ*ONE and X1 have since been put on hold.
