[enter-talk] I LIKED SEVENTEEN FOR OVER 4 YEARS, BUT TO BE HONEST, I FEEL LIKE I'M ABOUT TO BURST

First of all, Seventeen debuted in 2015, and they started doing overseas tours every year starting from 2916. To be honest, they still don't have that much public recognition in Korea, but before even settling a footprint domestically, they received some reaction in Japan, so they started touring in Japan. And amid of that, the staff and the agency were making some mess here and there with their family and relatives... Still, the fans held it in, until their wish was fulfilled (to gain public recognition) when Aju Nice was released, but that was only once. After that, even the group mentioned that their song wouldn't be a public friendly song, but that they would focus on having synchronized choreography...ㅋㅋ  But why do they only play Aju Nice whenever they go on variety shows even now..?
Moreover, Seventeen are never ashamed of themselves and would always communicate with the fans, and they would treat them well too, but this year, they started not giving any content, they didn't do any V-lives and they all stopped promoting on Instagram. They also stopped promoting all together, the world "content" was just non-existent anymore. And hearing what happened lately just sent the fans' mental state to oblivion....
To summarize, they never really were able to hit big domestically (talking about public recognition) and they also started doing a lot of overseas tours and Japan tours so their time promoting domestically reduced + company and staff with their acquaintance had a lot of controversies (of course the members too) + they didn't want to do the concept that the fans wanted (public friendly songs) rather,t they kept doing songs that they wanted and they stopped connecting with the fans too, so right now with what's been happening, I'm about to burst

I'm seriously a Carat who's been with them since their debut and I'm someone who's on the verge of quitting the fandom right now. Seriously I agree with everything that OP mentioned here. I'm not only talking about Choi Seungcheol, but the rest of the members, none of them ar ereally communicating with the fans anymore. They didn't release any songs that made new fans join since   Don't Wanna Cry so the Carats that are fans now, are the core fandom that stick with them since their debut... But right now they're starting to lose all their core fandom, the fans want those refreshing concepts, the ones that the public would love, this is just a fact. So I don't understand why they would only do it once. So are people saying that Seventeen are now doing the music they really wanted to do? During the time when it was Ex-Bang-Sev was changed to Ex-Bang-Wan, and we f*cking received a blow ever since, every time a controversy was created, we just did our best to bury it down and we waited for them, we shielded everything they did, but they didn't come back. They didn't show the same love they showed to the fans back them. to be honest, so many people joined Seventeen's fandom because they loved their stage and their songs, but slowly, their songs became less and less public friendly like OP mentioned and just like any other male idols songs. Their songs are all charting out now and they're only raising the sales through adding more photo cards to raise their physical albums sales... The time has already passed when the fans would request something and they would listen.. .We're just holding back and we're all on the verge of leaving. Please use the fans' words as a feedback to improve. I've always thought of them as artists, but now I'm starting to think that they were once artists and now they're just idols

This year too, their schedules used to be so packed, and since everyone's hurting and it was hard for everyone, everyone got sick. To be honest, seeing how they're friends with that ajumma(?) everything's about to burst

I'm another group's fan but this is giving me goosebumps... I'm not a fan so nothing I will say is relevant, but isn't it good that they're doing the songs they want to do? If you looked at EXO, BTS or Shinee, they're always going for those experimental sounds and the sound that they want to release. And I used to think that Seventeen's public recognition was quite good? Plus, there's lots of male idols doing those refreshing concepts nowadays, so they're purposely avoiding it no..? It'd none of my business to talk about the way they interact with the fans but since they have a lot of members, isn't it okay if they alternate once a week?

Ex-Bang's fandom continues to grow for a reason. They are good at communicating with the fans and they're taking care of them. They keep updating their SNS, but although Seventeen are all good kids, and they're talented, shouldn't they be taking care of the fans instead of growing that "friendship"?

no but to be honest, they must really want to get a daesang, so shouldn't they obviously go for a public friendly song?
