"Hello, this is Starship Entertainment. We wish to share a notice regarding our artist, MONSTA X’s Shownu.
During a preliminary examination by an ophthalmologist on July 2, when he was scheduled to undergo LASIK surgery, Shownu was informed that there was an abnormality in his retina and underwent a more thorough examination.
Following the examination, Shownu was diagnosed with retinal detachment in his left eye and as surgery was unavoidable, he underwent surgery in the afternoon that day.
Our agency puts the health of our artists first, and we plan to work to ensure that he has a swift recovery, and we will post notices in the future regarding scheduled activities after taking into consideration the advice of specialists and Shownu’s recovery status.
We sincerely apologize for causing concern to all the fans who love MONSTA X, and we will continue to do our best to take care of the members’ health.
