Lai Guanlin is seen performing at CCTV for the National Day of the People's Republic of China
He originates from Taiwan and joined Wanna One. Right now he's performing for the National Day of the People's Republic of China and was seen saying 'China Taiwan' and caused a controversy. Although China calls Taiwan 'China Taiwan', the Taiwanese people definitely does not acknowledge that.
In a promotional video, Lai Guanlin was already seen using the term when he said "I'm Lai Guanlin. I will be waiting for you in China Taiwan'.
China has been praising him for being a patriotic youth. During the HK protest, he posted on his Weibo "I suppotd HK police" and China stated themselves that "Lai Guanlin is a young man of the new era (Xi Jinping) who has always been a patriotic man and holds strong political opinions."
