[theqoo] LEE JEHOON, 'TAXI DRIVER' IS USING A DOUBLE SOMETHING DESERVING HATE? "ABSURD CONTROVERSY"

After the release of some action scenes on SBS 'Taxi Driver (TD)', starring actor Lee Jehoon, he was engulfed in a 'double controversy'.

In episode 4 of the SBS Friday and Saturday drama TD, which aired on the 17th, Kim Dogi (played by Lee Jehoon) was depicted fighting against school violence perpetrators and gangsters.

In this process, Lee Jehoon seemed to be performing splendid action, but there were a lot of reactions claiming that the action scenes as a whole looked clumsy and that it was obvious that the actor was using a double. As a result, severe criticism poured out as it hindered the viewers' immersion.

[...] The production has raised the anticipation for the action scenes, so there might have been viewers who turned out disappointed by them.

In addition, a large number of viewers have made comments like "the double is too obvious", and other similar opinions, pushing the production crew and the actors to reflect on areas of improvement. Other comments ridiculed the double saying "His hair was way too shiny".

[...] Other reactions have been that there were too many scenes where Lee Jehoon used a double.

It would be great if the main actor could pull off all the scenes himself, from one to ten, but it's practically impossible. An actor's injury, which can happen at least one time, should never be considered a 'proud medal'.

There are always stunt actors or doubles who have been trained professionally in any field, such as dramas and movies. In order to prevent the risk of injury for the lead actors, and to prevent severe physical exhaustion, the double is absolutely necessary. [...]

1. How is this a controversy??

2. But if we're talking between one to ten, he should've at least done one of those scenes

3. I'm not sure if this is the result of using a double, but the action scenes were so clumsy, he was just swinging randomly in the air trying to hit people, but it didn't give me the nervousness of an actual action scene at all

4. I was so shocked when I learned that Lee Jehoon received 100M from this. What other works does Lee Jehoon have aside from Signal?

5. Lee Jehoon is an actor who has no coordination with his body at all... So I thought that using a double will be less problematic for him;;;; I bet he'll be even more awkward if he did them himself, stop making controversies from trivial stuff like that

6. It's so common to use a double for action scenes whether it's for safety purposes or to make the scene appear more 'real'

7. The issue here isn't whether he uses stunts or not, it's that he's getting paid what he doesn't deserve

8. Who cares, even Hollywood uses stunts..

9. The issue isn't because he sucks at action scenes so he's using doubles, but that he's earning such big money from it and he still can't act his own scenes, no?

10. The issue is his appearance fee, who cares about the stunts?
