6Mix 1st version
In 2014, JYP was having a rookie project called 7.6.5
They were planning to debut GOT7, 6Mix and 5Live (called Day6 now)
GOT7 debuted as it was, 5Live added a drummer Dowoon so they became Day6
6Mix's Lena, Cecilia, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Minyoung and Jisoo (Jihyo) were the debut unit
They even had a showcase prepared and they already completed their album
Jeongyeon and Nayeon even had dramas, advertising and even MVs appearance. They also had a few articles written about them
They shot a Nintendo Wii ad
The one next to Jeongyeon is WJSN's SeolAㅋㅋㅋ
However, as they were preparing for their debut in 2014, the Sewol ferry scandal broke and the societal atmosphere made it difficult to debut anyone
In the situation where they had to push back their debut, member Cecilia decided to leave JYP
(we don't know the reason and but she's an actress in China right now)
Instead of Cecilia, they took Sana who was meant for their original Japanese team
They pushed the debut to late 2014 instead
At that time, this was JYP's debut unit picture that was circulating that was supposed to compete against SM's rookies
This was the 2nd unit for 6Mix
Lena, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Sana, Minyoung, Jihyo

Seriously they went all the way to almost debuting
they even shot videos of all 6 together
We all thought that Jihyo was finally debuting
But...
The oldest unnie, leader and center Lena decided to leave JYP
This was the 2nd time a member left and JYP had ot push the debut once again. They saw their plan for 6Mix fall through
At that time, Jihyo already trained for over 7 years and due to the stress, she ended up gaining the most weight she ever had
Jeongyeon also considered leaving the company so much that she stopped training altogether and worked for a bread shop as a part timer
The Japanese team: Momo, Sana, Sika, Mone, Riho
Meanwhile, JYP was also preparing for their Japanese debut
At that point, Hallyu was seen very negatively in Japan, and because of the hateful atmosphere, they had to halt the debut plan for the Japanese team indefinitely
Meanwhile, Sika and Riho quit JYP (Mina only trained for 1 year and because it was such a short time, JYP wasn't planning to put her in any of the debut projects)
After Sika debuted in a group called Fanatics (With Kim Doah)
Riho started modelling in Japan
and Mone started being a half-trainee
YP failed to debut both teams, they fell into an embarrassing situation
They then decided to go for another audition survival program to build a brand new team
Because 6Mix and the Japanese team lacked too many people to debut
They took the members who were in the original team and added the kids team, who were the only team that was planning to debut, in it
This was a huge opportunity for the kids team to debut
(They weren't supposed to be picked but to debut right away)
Aside from the maknae of the Japanese team Mone
Tzuyu and Natti weren't supposed to make it to Sixteen
But because other trainees decided to not join, they were included
6Mix/Japanese team/Kids team eventually met like that
I'm not sure what happened to their other trainees
but everyone got close during Sixteen..

I'm another group's fan but Jihyo is so amazing. It's a relief that she finally got to debut and succeeded with her teamㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

The kids team were so lucky, especially Tzuyu.. this isn't the Kids team + original members -> They were already able to debut right away by participating in the showㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Seriously life is all about luck and timing..

Mina is legendary, she only trained for 1 year and JYP didn't even know Mina's name at that point. She joined Sixteen and stole the spot for her visuals and became the main dancer
