[teens stories] IS IT WEIRD THAT A 3RD YEAR MIDDLE SCHOOLER IS DATING A 2ND YEAR HIGH SCHOOLER?

T/N: for reference, 3^rd year middle schooler = 15-16 y.o. (US age) and 2^nd year high schooler = 16-17 y.o.

 

Seriously, I don’t know if it’s weird or not so I’m asking on PANN…. It’s like the title says, I’m in my 2^nd  year of high school and my girlfriend is in her 3^rd year of middle school. It’s been 1 week since we’ve started dating and we knew each other ever since we were young. We had a some for the longest time and we just started to date. My friends are calling me crazy for dating a middle schooler and tell me not to touch them. They even ask me how can I view a female middle schooler as a woman, and that if they had a dongsaeng attending middle school, they wouldn’t let her date, etc… they think that I’m some crazy perverts who approached my girlfriend with ulterior motives…. we’re not even adults yet and we barely have 2 years age gap between us… I seriously can’t understand them, am I weird?? There are lots of girls on PANN so from a girl’s point of view, what do you think?

I’ve also dated high schoolers when I was in my 3^rd year of middle school… but thinking back now, I was seriously young. Although we were only 1-2 years apart, if you think about it, don’t you think that it’s a bit of a different case? As a high schooler, you are crazy worried about university entrance but you can’t really have this types of conversation with a middle schooler… no matter what other people say, you two have to match each other to some level. Also, I know that nowadays, everyone does skinship but I feel like the vibe of doing it between a high schooler and middle schooler.
