so we wanted to update you guys with what's trending on PANN recently
in OUR opinion ^^
1. TOP TRENDING BOY GROUPS
EXO
yes, they're still the most trending group on PANN, no wonder people call them "god-xo" XD whether it's bashing, praising, comparing, EXO is always relevant. Whether it's their fans, news or anecdotes. They're so famous that they make a fuss "just for breathing", a phrase that has been popularized in PANN
Infinite
Ever since EXO-Ls and Inspirits joined force recently, and because they're doing Showtime, infinite became relevant on PANN again, even though they had a little "vacuum" time for not promoting people still mention them from here and there.
BTS
they joined the trending list a while ago because of the sajaegi controversy (that fortunately got resolved), which brought them a lot of recognition. Ever since Armies are numerous on PANN and often ride over other groups' posts xD
BTOB
they got really popular with the tag of "talented idols who can't win #1". They're known for being good at varieties, singing and having good personalities but they're just lacking the "one hit" to make it big. Although they have a lot of fans, a lot of muggles (fans of no one) support them on PANN
STRONG CANDIDATES FOR TRENDING BOY GROUPS
Seventeen
they've been quite popular for a rookie from a small agency on PANN. A lot of readers were wondering if we were biased at first because even for us it was strange that so many articles from them were trending on PANN XD
BAP
Ever since their comeback, PANN Babies have been really active promoting their groups. They often take over the whole comment sections. They also seem to have mainly supporters and rarely any hate across all fandoms :p
Ikon
they're slowly getting rid of their "bad reputation" they had when they debuted, which is good for them. A lot of people are starting to notice more members aside from B.I and Bobby :)
2. TOP TRENDING GIRL GROUPS
since PANN is heavily boy groups biased, girl groups in general aren't as popular as boy groups, but they are still a few who trend quite a lot~
Red Velvet
All the members are equally popular (whether popular from getting hate, or popular from getting loved) They're being compared a lot to other groups like EXO. Most of the times, articles about RV talk about individual members :)
Lovelyz
Since Woollim makes them comeback quite often, they're trending most of the time because fans would discuss about their concepts and stuff. Otherwise trending topics that comes with Lovelyz are about their singing, visuals and the Jisoo scandal (yes, we all know how some knets like to drag things ^^;;)
STRONG CANDIDATES FOR TRENDING GIRL GROUPS
Twice
they got really popular off the bat for their visuals, so let's see if they can keep their popularity high! :)
3. TOP TRENDING MALE IDOLS
(they're more famous alone than the own group on PANN)
Winner kinda gets burried in the vacuum because of their lack of activities, but they're still pretty popular. Nam Taehyun and Mino get mentioned a lot, obviously, because they're the only members who promoted this year. But another fact is that they seem to have the most fans among Knets communities :)
Suho
The one who gets the most love from muggles in EXO. Previously we mentioned that Xiumin was the talk on PANN, but ever since, it seems that things changed because SM puts too little spotlight over him so Suho's recognition rose a lot. He also became really popular not only for his face and personalities, but mostly because of the many scandals that EXO got in. Knets seem to have realized that his leadership was really good.
V
He's the one who got the most spotlight on through the sajaegi controversy this year. Ever since the issue cleared, knets started calling him the "visual" of Bangtan (although Jin is gaining popularity for being the "car door guy"). He's also very famous or having a lot of funny gifs.
STRONG CANDITATES FOR TRENDING MALE IDOLS
Jinhwan
After Bobby and B.I paved the way for Ikon's popularity, it seems like Knets are getting more and more interested in Jinhwan. There's at least one trending post every day or every other day :)
TOP TRENDING FEMALE IDOLS
for PANN, even though girl groups as a whole are often neglected, individual female idols are REALLY popular
IU
yes, the WHOLE time she promoted her album and ever since, she was THE talk of the town. Whether it was teen stories, enter-talk, analysis male/female, life stories, etc. all PANN categories have been taken over by her controversies, which even made it hard for us to not translate her articles because so many of them were trending all the time
Taeyeon
in the last post, we mentioned Yoona instead of Taeyeon, but ever since the talks about her solo, SNSD's many comebacks and rumors about her and Baekhyun resurfacing, Taeyeon became really popular. She really deserves the title of the biggest stan attractor among female groups. Most recently, knets are in awe with her looks and her fashion have been quite the trend in Korea!
Seolhyun
Even though popular websites like Naver accuse her of media play, Knets on PANN rarely mentions it. She's mostly popular on PANN for being the next "one top" idol and having a killer body and visuals. Her body is actually the main topic trending on PANN about her~
Suzy
Since she's promoting all the time, she's trending most of the times. She also pops out a lot when it comes to comparisons with other idols. Her hanbok pictorial and her many change in hairstyles were some of her hot topics :)
STRONG CANDIDATES FOR TRENDING FEMALE IDOLS
Hyeri
She was already quite popular back then for being the representative of short hair, and like Seolhyun, people were giving her the tag of the next generation's "one top". But recently, ever since Reply blew up, her fame blew up even more and for the better! Her reputation really took a turn and became so positive that anyone who diss her gets turned down
TIFFANY
Strangely, her popularity rose on PANN and people were praising about her simple personalities and pretty smiles. Let's see if she can become a trending topic on PANN with her solo :)
