First of
all, I want to say that I’m a fan of SM artists so you can say that I like SM
overall as a company.
Amber
recently created some fuss and was bashing SM. It made people wonder why SM
didn’t want to push someone talented like Amber.
This was
the post in question that started the controversy. The people were saying
stuffs like “give F(x) some work!”, but if you read her post carefully, she was
talking about individual promotions. She’s saying how she’s been waiting for
the past 5 years and that she doesn’t know what more she can do.
But did SM
really block all her projects?
The answer
is no.
I went to
look for Amber’s latest individual songs. In 2016 alone, she released 6 songs.
SM Station has always been bad at promoting their songs but their songs are
still being listened a lot either by the fans, by the public acknowledging the
song, or by the song slowly becoming more known. But even so, the responses
were lacking and no one knew about them
But what do
you think about the songs that showcase more her personal color? Will it be
different?
“Amber participated in the producing and writing of the album”
Amber
participated in her own album as a producer and lyricist. Even her title song
“Shake That Brass” had Taeyeon featuring in it in order to push her more.
Moreover, Taeyeon’s fans even streamed her song but she still got destroyed on
the charts.
A lot of
people know this but she even participated in Real Men, and she was the only SM female idol who ever participated in it. Before her, only Henry and Kangin went there.
Although it was a promotional tactic for her song, after her ‘please forget
it!’ catch phrase, she disappeared again. After Real Men, Henry still kept on doing
variety and was slowly going up while Amber just fell flat.
So what
about her fans? Doesn’t she have a lot of them? F(x) has many fans though, did
they let Amber down?
When she
uploaded her post, there was already over 20K comments. People might think that
this is only because she’s talking about a big issue but seeing the numbers,
they are far from being small? If anyone has examples from other idols, please
let me know.
You can
clearly see that SM pushed Amber a lot in 2016. They also paired her with Henry
when they went on variety shows (SM also doesn’t really do that much variety
aside form Suju & Shinee). F(x) doesn’t even promote that much either.

- But Amber did a lot of collaborations and had a lot of digital releases, she even had her own promotions this year no? But the responses were just too poor. I think that SM pushed Amber enough. It’s not like SM was some kind of charity either. If an artist performs poorly, why would they keep pushing her? It’s not like she was a rookie like NCT who can grow bigger either. So SM doesn’t need to push her

- 20K replies is a lot and she even has 4M followers… but I seriously think that the solution is to disband F(x). After Sulli left, there was no hope anymore….

- Amber is being unreasonable but since SM’s image is bad, they are getting all the curse

- SM isn’t even a charity and her solo album didn’t even bring them any profit. Why would they keep on pushing her… To be honest, if her responses were similar to Tiffany’s solo, it will be more ambiguous but for kids who hit even lower than her like Seohyun, Amber and Yesung, there’s no point in giving them another solo album.

- Seriously, she sounds so high and mighty. Idols from middle and small agencies who can’t even hit big would be thankful if they were in Amber’s shoes. Her skills are ambiguous, her position in her group is ambiguous, and her popularity is ambiguous… Taeyeon featured in her songs and all the popular kids all featured in it too. I think that she got the most complete solo promotions out of everyone.. I seriously can’t understand her.

- I seriously can't feel Amber's charm and skills... SM has no reason to keep pushing her
