the reason why RV's one of those night is a commemorative song for the Sewol ferry

1. Paper boats on the teaser pics; paper boats were also used as a commemorative symbol after the Sewol incident

2. Yeri who was the only one blurred on the album cover; at the time of the Sewol incident, the students from Dangwon school would've now be in their 2nd grade, thus 18 years old. Yeri is also 18 years old




3. MV analysis; at the beginning, before going on the field trip, the students are all pampering themselves because it's their most beautiful age, where they are supposed to shine at their best. While preparing, you can see something that resembles a butterfly behind Yeri, something that signifies hope and spring. But you can see that everyone has blunt expressions while doing their makeup because they have a bad premonition.

The place where Wendy is looks like a boat corridor with the No Smoking sign



you can see on the poster "AIS 15-16", which is an automated identification system to track ships. During Sewol's incident, there were talks saying that the AIS wasn't functioning between the 15th and the 16th (16th was the date of the Sewol incident)

When Seulgi peaks in the keyhole, she finds out what truly happened
so Seulgi is the only one who knows about the "truth" and on the picture, she's the only one staring at the camera because she's the first one to learn about it


When Seulgi tries to escape, the surroundings are all filled with water; meaning they were fighting for survival.

Irene looks the most serene among them all, she doesn't seem to know anything representing the students who were told to stay still (during the incident). Irene is just there sitting. Joy who represents the survivor, looks at Irene longingly

Irene is the only one blocking her eyes. she turns herself away from the truth


Yeri is asleep in the boat alone. The water is pouring in

Then you see a shot where the 5 of them are together, and the lighting is bright
but when Joy, the only survivor is found alone, the lighting becomes dark


the boat is starting to get filled with water and Seulgi cannot be helped anymore. She makes a mistake and opens the door to heaven. By going to that way, she finds all the other members dressed in white. But Joy is not there




Wendy's locked in the room and can't escape, so she goes under the table (the truth is during Sewol, the last thing the students could do as a desperate move to find peace was to protect themselves under the desks)

Yeri wakes up but it's too late, the water already filled the boat. She sinks in the sea of blood



Seulgi blames herself. She watches all the students(dying). She knows the truth but she doesn't have the confidence to deliver the truth. She gives up and dies

At the same time, water keeps pouring in the boat, in front of Irene. Irene falls into a blue room that signifies water. Her gaze tells us that she wants to warn other people.

Joy is the only one wearing black, the survivor that weeps for the deaths.



the light is slowly making its way into the boat

There's a light that is not turned off at the end of the MV which shows the last students in the boats holding onto their little hope.

the title is July 7th (in Korean), they looked like they wanted us to think about "The meeting of the 2 love stars" (Korean/Japanese love story which tells a story about a love encounter on the 7/7 day of the lunar calendar) which turned to the Solar calendar would be March 16th, the day of the Sewol fairy.

That's why they delayed the comeback for a day? As expected from Sooman-jjang, I'll join the SM fandom (t/n: because RV's comeback was supposed to be on the 15th (Korean date) but got pushed back to match with Sewol)

the kids saying that they're riding on the Sewol incident are freaking hilariousㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Do you think that SM are the ones media playing about Sewol with this album? You think that they thought about you reading this and deciding to buy their stuff? Stop the nonesense ㅋㅋㅋㅋ They just want to raise awareness over the issue so we don't forget about it. And we won't repeat the same mistake. So you want us to bury the event down?
