[enter-talk] DON'T YOU THINK THAT THE CELEBRITIES' SUPPORT CULTURE IS A BIT STRANGE?

t/n: when K-fans talk about "Support/서포트" it means "tribute/fans gift/money fans use for celebrities"

Don't you feel like celebrities' support culture is weird at all?

I've always been a "light" fangirl (t/n: not a hardcore fan), but I've been starting to feel like celebrities' support system is kinda strange.
A lot of people say stuff like "celebrities are like governmental bodies", celebrities are heard by hundred of millions of people in Korea, and they are guaranteed to receive hundreds of millions, they enjoy a lot of wealth in different forms.
When it's their birthday, the fans would buy each and everyone of them new clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories, those being the basic stuff. On top of it, they would receive notebooks, phones, and to the point where the fans would even send their family members gifts too. The support system's scale is just so huge right?

Celebrities who are very famous can easily receive a package worth more than 100 million in one go like that.
Fansite managers also have fansite activities and would gather millions of won to support them. The fandoms themselves would also gather money for fundraising. The whole process itself is calculable since they are very transparent with every transaction that is made and everyone end up knowing what the true amount people would put in those support tributes.
But think about the celebrities themselves who are on that spot, they definitely have the chance to see and compare with their own groups and see how their support compares to other members. I think that situations like those can easily heat up and become quite severe, members of the same group might even start glaring at each other's support.
There are also a lot of celebrities who would make it very obvious to people about what they would want to receive as gifts. (there are way too many of them, but I won't name them). So those  celebrities would even inquire about what they like to their companies and only accept those gifts that suit their tasteㅋㅋ
It's this kind of support culture that turns fans into ATMs.

You'd think that the fans would stop at tributes for birthdays? As soon as they start having schedules, fans would send luxurious lunchboxes and desert sets. They would take care of all their meals and even meals for the staff.
Isn't the organizing party of events the ones who are supposed to take care of the celebrities' and staff's meals? Why are fans the ones responsible for celebrities and even the staffs?
Some time ago, Wanna One's agency's staffs were caught asking the fans to send them lunch boxes.  (the fans have already sent lunch boxes to the group and the staff, but the company's staff also requested for lunch boxes).
Have you guys read the article? Choi Hwa Jung's radio show received CNBlue as a guest and she had the guts to ask them "other fandoms all gave me lunch boxes before, why don't you guys have it too?"
I know that this issue has different shades, a lot of people are thankful for those support, and this support culture has lasted for a long time already, so for fans, things like giving out food is something natural to do.
But there are so many celebrities and staff to take care of, and staff usually would use this at their advantage and use their power to coerce the fans in those situations and talk lowly of them?
Why do you think so? When you see yourselves going "Please take care of our celebrities~" while giving out food and snacks and kissing their asses, staffs and celebrities would naturally start thinking of themselves as masters and talk lowly of the fans right?

And there's the general atmosphere in fandoms. Fans would stream songs overnight, one person can becomes a streaming factory no? Even fans themselves are starting to take the whole factory streaming for granted, if you're caught not streaming, people will harass you and be sarcastic about it or you wouldn't be eligible to even be a fan.
No but, shouldn't we focus on attending class or going to work after a night of sleep? Why are we disregarding that and putting forward streaming overnight, and why do we attack and bash fans for not streaming?
Don't you realize that celebrities will receive the negative repercussion from distasteful actions like those? Then what are you going to do?
But when you criticize something like this about your bias, other fans would team up against you and say "You're not even a fan! You're just an akgae right?" Fans of their own fandom are cannibalizing their own kind and it's getting so severe.
(At some point, there was the Seventeen Bapjul incident and all the fandom ganged up against that one fan who started it and started swearing and attacking her using all kinds of words, of course they were trying too justify everything the celebrity was doing and instead turned the fan into an anti for spreading false rumors).
Fans would react aggressively to anything that is not something sweet and tender about their bias and would turn a blind eye and block their ears. Just seeing how fandoms only want to view their bias prettily and believe in them no matter what while burying down all their mistakes makes me realize how overly and blindlessly loyal fandoms have become.
I feel like people in fandoms just don't know how to respect each other anymore.

Another thing that really shocked me are the fansign cultures. Why are celebrities sitting on chairs when fans are on squatting down or bending their waist to talk to the celebrities? (I've seen instances where they placed chairs, but none of my bias have chairs in their fansigns)
Aren't they looking down on fans a bit too much? It's not like celebrities and fans' relationship is some master servant relationship either.
I just feel like celebrities, agencies and broadcast stations are abusing their power on fans too much.
The fans' only responsibility should be buying the merchandise and promoting their bias' music, it's not like they're completely looked down upon, but I just feel like nowadays, the support culture and the fandoms' atmosphere is slowly turning fans into "slaves/low labors"
Personally, every time I see those huge tributes and extravagant lunch boxes given to celebrities, I just find it so hilariousㅋㅋㅋ
Don't you guys have any self-respect and honour? Fans are always promoting their bias in order for the general public to give them love, but is it really necessary to send them expensive gifts and food?
I'm sure that even celebrities who receive those support don't understand it themselves. I just feel like the support culture is too weird and we need to fix many things.
I also feel like there are a lot of problematic issues within fandoms that need to be addressed

The most urgent thing would be to change the fandom's atmosphere, nowadays it has gotten so severe ㅋㅋㅋ They always want to keep it innocent and clean about their own bias and will bash anyone who raise an issue

If this was actually an article, the comments will 100% be about "So why don't you treat your parents like that? This is pathetic, tsk tsk stupid fangirls" ㅋㅋㅋ Even for the general public, their most easy targets are the fans ㅋㅋ Have you ever read comments like "The celebrities are making so much money, why can't they refuse the food and the gifts?" ㅋㅋ For the general public, it's way easier to laugh and bash the fans instead of the celebrities for that ㅋㅋ Why do you think so??Because the fans themselves are lowering their status and worshiping and glorifying celebrities by putting them on a pedestal. Fans themselves are the ones who are lifting celebrities' status at a high level so in the end. Of course society will end up picking on the easy target, which is obviously not the celebrities, but the fans themselves for lowering their own statusㅋㅋ If your only response is "Why do you care? I spend my own money the way I want" there will be no end to this issue, please have some self awareness

My bias is an idol who's still a minor, but he's already receiving millions of won worth of tribute for his birthday. Do you really think that pouring those brand stuff and blindless love on them will influence them for the better? Think about it twice

Seriously everything that is said on this post is spot on. I seriously feel like fans are turning themselves into lower beings
