2. He doesn't have a cellphone
2. He doesn't care about fashion
He's only getting costumes at the will of his mom
He's always wearing a jersey + training gear
4. He doesn't have SNS + He barely ever appeared on broadcast on his own
There was another skater who was at the cricket club with him and trained with him before who tried to convince Hanyu to open and SNS but he refused
He also only appear on those charitable TV programs and beside, he rarely ever goes on broadcast
Usually Japanese figure skaters are treated like idols in Japan, but he doesn't go much on TV
With Hanyu's popularity, you'd think that it's a given for him to appear much, but his TV appearance can be counted on your fingers
5. He's quite single minded, so he doesn't have friends
Javier Fernandez (on the right) has been training in the same ring as Hanyu for 6 years and said that they never had a meal in private together once
Bryan Orser also commented on that saying that he told Hanyu to spend time with the people he loves when he has time, but he's not close with any of the Japanese skaters either'
6. He arranges the music for his own programs
His best representative Olympic that gave him 2 consecutive wins SEIMEI
Hope&Legacy where he broke a new world record
both programs' music were arranged by him
7. He's addicted to earphones, games and rock
He goes around with at least 6 different earphones a day,
he likes rock bands and is a big fan of Bump of Chicken, Back Number, The Sketchbook
He also games to release stress
8. His household is unexpectedly simple?
His dad is a teacher (right now he's a school principal) and his mom is a house wife
His sister also trained to be a figure skater but she gave up for Hanyu
9. He's also fond of Korea
picture taken in Korea
He mentioned in 2012 that a country he wanted to visit was Korea and he wanted to learn Korean
Right now he doesn't have his Youtube channel anymore, but in the past, he was revealed to be a KARA fan
He used to have pictures like that too ㅋㅋ
She congratulated her friend Hanyu for his gold medal
It was in 2011 Taiwan 4CC hotel, and he was with athlete Kwak Minseok
As expected those are pictures taken from Korean athletes
10. He's a male figure skater but he's 1m72, he's in the taller side
He has amazing proportions too
original post: here
1. I seriously don't understand some of the comments here... Why do you have to leave comments and make a fuss? There are so many celebrities who are thugs in Korea and still get lots of fans, if you hate him just don't comment
2. This is such an inoffensive post, but you guys are trying to turn Hanyu into such a weird person in the comments and it's getting so severe.
3. It's my first time hearing his voice todayㅋㅋ
4. His voice when he speaks English is so different from other Japanese people trying to speak English. I feel like he would've been so famous in our country if only he was Korean
5. I like Hanyuㅋ
6. No but he's someone who's quite smart and who's known to study a lot and he's never been associated with being a nationalist so the comments here are just so baffling that all I can do is laughㅋㅋㅋㅋ
7. But he's never been in a controversy for being a nationalist though?
8. I like him because he's not on SNS and doesn't appear much on broadcasts
9. Wow he's freaking likable, he's just trying to live his life hard workingly and I'm trying to never read his article because so many people mock him here.. But he's quite a fine man?
10. So he's not that close with Japanese athletes yet he's friends with the Korean athletes? This makes me like him
11. He's indeed quite handsome... Wow ㅋ
12. I'm f*cking impressed that he doesn't go on broadcasts... I thought that he would be an attention seeker...
13. I'm freaking fascinated that he doesn't have a cellphoneㄷㄷㄷ
14. His voice isn't that low either? But I'm more shocked that he's this good in English
15. F*ck he's f*cking cute
16. The more I look at Hanyu the more he gets cuter
17. Wow I really like people who stay faithful to their jobs, this made me like him a little bit more
