Irene attended the Level up project season2 event's fanmeeting (?),
Irene didn't mention anything that had to do with feminism, but she mentioned a book that is claimed to contain feminist content in it and everyone went off at her.
The male communities started saying stuff like "we can't believe her" "you are really this ignorant" "Irene has so many male fans, she's inconsiderate" etc..
(They took pictures of them leaving the fandom)
"Those male fans are the ones spending cash to attend your fansign, aren't you giving them a middle finger?"
Right now the male communities started trending this issue

- "Irene is a Korean woman born as the oldest in a family from Daegu but you say she has no reason to be a feminist kekekeke She lives in a world where you get benefits only if you're pretty, of course she would be a feminist kekekeke"
[enter-talk] I RESPECT IRENE (FT. 82ER KIM JIYOUNG)
Today, they asked her at their fan meeting about the book she was reading and she said that she was reading ‘82er Kim Jinyoung’. Even though they didn’t officially say that the book was a feminist book, it has to do with feminism. I found it so impressive that she’s talking about this in a country like ours.
It created a controversy on male communities but I hope that they take this opportunity to wipe off all the Han-nams (derogatory term for Korean men) from the fandom. Let’s keep only the girls and normal men in here.
