The director knew Yoo Ah In as someone who was slim and has boyish charms, and already formed an image of the character having that in mind so when he saw Yoo Ah In, he got taken aback and was shocked. That's why he told him "to be honest, I hope you can lose some weight"
So Yoo Ah In responded super coolly "Then I'll lose it"
Some time later, they met again and it hasn't been very long, but Yoo Ah In already became slim again. But after meeting with Yoo Ah In, the director realized that Yoo Ah In's interpretation of the role was right after all, so he asked him to gain weight again.

Yoo Ah In never mentioned that in any interview, but this is something that the director mentioned in a later interview revealing his hardships.
Hong Euijung director said that he was worried about asking Yoo Ah In the gain weight again, but he acted so coolly and relax about it with "got it". The director felt sorry for him.
