[theqoo] FOREIGNERS: THE REASON WHY WE WONDER "IS KOREA A COUNTRY THAT OPPRESSES LGBTQ SEVERELY?"

Because we do skinship without hesitation

Foreigners are surprised when they come to Korea and see high schooler guys putting their arms over each other's shoulders or holding hands and girls linking arms together

They say that there aren't a lot of countries where same-sex friends would do skinship like this like it's no big deal

Some say that because Koreans don't classify 'homosexuality' as 'love' so they are able to do skinship like that

original post: here

1. Other countries don't do skinship with each other because they fear that others will label them as homosexuals? Compared to them, we are indeed more tolerant towards skinship

2. The last sentence is exactly right...

3. I hate skinship doing with men and women but when I see others do it, it's good to see. I find it so-so that people have to define what 'love' is. Skinship is just a way to show love so I hope that people wouldn't view it weirdly.

4. The last sentence is true and because we were born in this culture, we don't really think of it as weird and it's such a normal sight that I've actually never thought of it as weird ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

5. This never crossed my mind and it's not like doing skinship was a choice eitherㅋㅋㅋ (T/N: it comes to OP naturally)

6. The last sentence is the essence of it. Nobody thinks of it as weird

7. I find it even weirder that they think of homosexuals when they see skinship

8. Even ahjussis hold hands when they drink together, it's really not a big deal

9. It's because nobody cares about it

10. It's true that we don't classify 'homosexuals' as 'love' so that's really the reason why we don't care about skinshipㅇㅇ

11. The last sentence says it all

12. The last sentence is a fact. No matter what, we never connect same-sex skinship to love
