[theqoo] YG, GREEN LIGHTS FOR A POSSIBLE REBIRTH

1. Bigbang's contract renewal

YG's biggest concern is whether Bigbang will renew their contract or not. Ever since last year, people made careful predictions regarding the members' contract renewal.

However, YG succeeded in renewing with actors like Cha Seungwon, Kang Dongwon, Son Hojoon and Lee Sungkyung which are key actors in YG.

As a result, the green light has been turned on for Bigbang regarding their contract renewal. Recently Bigbang has confirmed their attendance to the Californian music festival Coachella.

2. Black Pink will continue to promote this year

Even though YG faced internal issues last year, Black Pink has secured the representative girl group in K-pop.

They went on an US tour and they ranked 1st this month a the top social girl group proving that Black Pink is currently the best K-pop girl group.

Their songs have charted on Billboard and achieved a new record by being the first K-pop group to chart in the UK's official single chart Top 100, entering at top 33.

Black Pink is planning to release a new album early this year. The industry expects them to set a record that goes beyond Kill This Love.

3. YG's new boy group 'Treasure', will they succeed?

YG will debut their new 12-members boy group 'Treasure' that emerged from the debut project program 'YG Treasure Box'. Their debut was planned for last summer but delayed due to internal affairs.

Mino from YG's existing boy group Winner is also planning more promotions this year.
