Zhang Heng (ZH) (Male broadcaster) and Zheng Shuang (ZS) (Female top start)
but they secretly flew off to US without letting the public know and got married there
They both consented to having a kid and use a surrogate mother to give birth to the child
They used ZH's sperm to fertilize ZS's ovule artificially and implanted the embryo in a surrogate uterus to give birth
It's illegal to use a surrogate mother in China, so both the wedding and childbirth were done in the US
The reason why it's irrefutable that they used a surrogate mother:
1. They had 2 kids but their birth dates are only 15 days apart. This can only be possible if they use 2 surrogates
2. ZS was promoting seamlessly without any changes in her pre-post childbirth body
The issue arose after 7 months (from their marriage?) their relationship exploded and they divorced
The surrogates were already 7 months pregnant and it would be impossible to abort (it's illegal)
ZS's side "I can't raise the kids, we need to throw them away or give them for adoption"
ZH's side "We can't give them for adoption, I'll raise them"
In the end, the man, ZH, ended up raising the 2 kids
He planned to take the kids back to China but because of the visa issues, he needs ZS to cooperate
-> ZS refused
The man got pissed off and exposed the secret wedding, the filing of divorce, the use of surrogates and the fact they had 2 kids
Right now, the man isn't an US citizen, so if his visa expires, he needs to return to China (he has until June this year)
Since the kids were born in US, and are US citizens, they need both parents' consent to go back to China (this is why he needed ZS's cooperation)
ZS keeps refusing so the man had to leave the kids in the US and come back
So the kids were left to a caretaker and given to adoption (t/n: seems like there's a mistake here, the kids are still living with the dad right now in US!)
